If you fancy running a haulage company and want to carry goods for any other company, someone where you work needs to hold an Operator CPC.
Nowadays (since December 2011) the qualification you need is a National and International Operator CPC. No longer can you get away with just having the National Licence. Even if you never want to go anywhere foreign - and why would you when we have have such fine food and weather in the UK - the people in Brussels say one day you will probably want to send something overseas so you need to be qualified. Personally, I can't think of a good reason why I might want to go anywhere near Brussels but they seem to think you may want to and therefore you need the full works.
The Operators CPC course will last nine days plus a day of exams. You can try and qualify with home study but you have to be realistic and set aside four a or five hours every day for a month or so if you take that route.
You should also set aside around £1000.
Our courses are based in Shrewsbury and are subject to minimum and maximum numbers. For more information please call us for an informal chat.
