Nothing but bikes, bikes and bikes
(oh, and lorries and cars)

In 1993, Essential Driver Training and its motorcycle division Fast Trak was opened in a tiny two room craft centre in the north of Shrewsbury. Almost thirty years later we are still going from strength to strength.

Our core business in earnings capability is trucks and haulage but our hearts are in bikes. Every single member of our staff is an enthusiastic biker and most are qualified instructors.

But many of them also drive lorries and of course we all drive cars too.

We train on bikes, we tour on bikes and we race bikes. We have staff who slide around speedway tracks. If you do something on a bike that we don’t, it’s probably illegal and you should be sent to prison. If you want to learn to ride, well, here we are. Without doubt the longest serving bike trainers in the county.

The first in the UK to have powers delegated by the DVSA to certify advanced bike instructors and, as far as we know the only people who can teach you to ride, teach you to instruct, take you round Oulton Park, the Nurburgring and the Grand Canyon and to Top Gun in Nevada.

A short time ago we managed to secure additional training areas whilst also extending our truck and car contracts. We are still on target to open our motorcycle touring centre in Spain, aiming for autumn 2023 for our first tours from our own centre. At the advent of the Driver CPC in 2008 we moved heavily into the PCV and LGV area and grew into what would become our largest division, that is everything transport and logistics.

Our commercial department offers courses for the Operator CPC, often known as the Transport Manager qualification, Driver CPC, driver training, in house assessor courses, a tachograph bureau, and much much more.
